What is Meetily?

Meetily gives you meeting transcripts and summaries without sending recordings to a cloud service. It listens through your computer's audio, so it works with most video call apps and does not add a bot to the meeting. That makes it a fit for consultants, lawyers, healthcare teams and others who handle sensitive conversations.

Meetily is a privacy-first AI meeting assistant that runs on your own computer. It captures microphone and system audio, transcribes meetings live with local Whisper or Parakeet models and writes summaries with a local Ollama model or a provider such as Claude, Groq or OpenRouter. No bot joins the call, and recordings and transcripts stay on your device.

Core capabilities

  • Live transcription on your device with Whisper or Parakeet models.
  • Summaries from local Ollama models or Claude, Groq, OpenRouter and OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
  • Records microphone and system audio together, so no meeting bot is needed.

Local transcription

Meetily transcribes meetings in real time on your device using Whisper or Parakeet models. On macOS, Metal and CoreML acceleration are switched on automatically, and the Windows installer uses a Vulkan-enabled Whisper build that needs an AVX2-capable processor. Existing audio files can be imported and transcribed, and past recordings can be re-transcribed with another model or language. The app mixes microphone and system audio, with ducking and clipping prevention.

Summaries and privacy

Summaries come from the AI provider you choose: Ollama for local models, or Claude, Groq, OpenRouter, OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. With Ollama, no meeting data has to leave your computer. Meetily works with call software that plays audio on your device, such as Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Webex. The free Community Edition exports notes as Markdown.

Install and licence

Meetily Community Edition is licensed under MIT. Installers are provided for Windows and Apple Silicon Macs, while Linux users build it from source with Rust and Node.js. It is a single Tauri application with a Rust backend and a Next.js interface. Meetily PRO is a separate paid product on a different codebase that adds speaker identification, PDF and DOCX exports, custom summary templates and automatic meeting detection.

Where it fits

Use cases

  1. 01

Take notes in calls without a meeting bot

Install Meetily on macOS or Windows and start a recording when your Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call begins. It captures your microphone and the system audio together and shows a live transcript. Nothing appears in the participant list, because no bot joins the call.

  2. 02

Summarise confidential meetings without the cloud

Choose Ollama as the summary provider so a local model writes the summary, while Whisper or Parakeet handles transcription on the device. Recordings, models and transcripts are stored locally. Organisations with their own AI service can point Meetily at a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint instead.

  3. 03

    Transcribe recordings you already have

Use Import and Enhance, currently in beta, to bring in an existing audio file and generate a transcript. You can also re-transcribe a recorded meeting with a different model or language. All of this processing happens on your computer.
