What is Dolibarr?
Dolibarr bundles the back-office tasks of a small company into one web application. Sales, purchasing, stock, invoicing, projects and HR sit in separate modules that you enable one by one, so a freelancer can start with invoices and a larger team can add stock or leave management later.
Dolibarr is an open-source ERP and CRM written in PHP for small and medium businesses, freelancers and foundations. You switch on only the modules you need, from contacts and quotes to invoices, stock, projects, leave and accounting, and run it on your own server or web hosting.

Switch on only the modules you need
Roughly 100 modules ship with Dolibarr, and all are optional. Third parties covers customers, prospects, suppliers and contacts. Sales modules cover proposals with online signing, orders, contracts, tickets and customer invoices with payments. Purchasing, stock and warehouses, manufacturing, projects and tasks, a shared agenda, leave, expense reports, timesheets, bank accounts and accounting are separate modules too. Data entered once appears in the related modules.

Run it on your own server or hosting
Dolibarr needs a web server with PHP (Apache or Nginx, for example) and MariaDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL. You can unpack the files and open the install page, use DoliWamp for Windows, DoliDeb for Debian and Ubuntu, or the dolibarr/dolibarr Docker image with a database container. It also deploys with one click on Easypanel. Dolibarr is licensed GPL-3.0 or later. Paid add-on modules are sold on the DoliStore marketplace, and third parties offer hosted Dolibarr.

Extend it and keep it upgradable
The project says you can upgrade from any version after 2.8 by replacing the files and running the install page, after taking a backup. Dolibarr has REST and SOAP APIs, user-defined extra fields, multi-currency and multi-language support, and PDF and ODT templates for invoices and quotes. A Module Builder helps you create your own modules, and multi-company use needs an external module.

Quote, order and invoice a customer
Add the customer under Third parties, create a commercial proposal, then convert it into an order and a customer invoice. Record the payment against the invoice and the bank account.

Track stock and supplier purchases
Enable Products and Stock, set up warehouses, and create purchase orders to your suppliers. Receiving the goods updates stock levels, and supplier invoices and payments are tracked in the same place.

Run projects, leave and expenses for a small team
Create projects and tasks and log time on them. Employees submit leave requests and expense reports, and managers approve them in the same application.
